South Places Second in the Suburban West Conference

Six conference champions lead the way

Complete results of the Suburban West Conference Meet can be viewed at, but here are some of the highlights. South finished with 96 points, second only to a deep and well-balanced Marquette team. There were six conference champions from South. Terry Young won the high jump with a jump of 6'0", Brandon Deloney was first in the 100 (11.3 seconds) and the 400 (50.11 seconds), Ben Brammeier won the 1600 in 4:30.28, and Kirk Chitwood outraced the competition in the 3200 (9:51.58). The final championship performance was turned in by the 4x200 meter relay team.

The boys and girls now turn their attention to the district meet this coming Saturday at Eureka.
